Product Review: Nanit Monitor Pro

When I find a parent hack or product that is a game-changer in the parenthood, I have to share the love.

I had to laugh at how much I became obsessed with this particular product. It felt similar to picking up a new hobby, like bird-watching. Though instead of bird-watching, I was baby-watching. Instead of talking my hubby’s ear off about different kinds of birds, I was talking about the monitor’s different functions. Instead of interpreting different bird calls, I was learning to interpret different types of my baby’s cries. The monitor was my nerd-out set of binoculars. And I thoroughly enjoyed using it.

Here is why I love the Nanit Monitor Pro and would recommend investing in one for your family:

  1. It is truly an all-in-one device.

  • Built-in sound machine with white noise

  • Super clear monitor/picture

  • Tracks baby’s sleep

  • Monitors room temperature

  • Optional night light setting

  • Subscription option (21.99/month) for ultimate extras!

    2. They think about safety features through the eyes of a parent.

  • It goes up the wall and has safety tubing on all cords

  • If you set up the monitor overlooking your child’s crib, then it will track baby’s sleep

  • A comfortable belly band is included with the monitor that tracks baby’s breathing, and an alarm will go off if baby’s breathing ever stops

  • The monitor links to your phone, and has sensitivity settings that can be adjusted to fit your level of comfort

* If you are the type of parent that wants to know your baby’s every movement, it will notify you! OR you may be the parent that wants as much sleep as possible, while knowing that your little one is safe. With this monitor, you can modify the alerts to fit the needs of your family*

  1. It facilitates multiple-users.

  • You can grant temporary access to grandparents, babysitters, etc.

  • The visitor access can be turned on and off as needed. So no one is monitoring your baby until you have enabled them to do so.

    2. It’s travel-friendly *travel stand sold separately

  • I can bring this baby on playdates, family trips, over to Grandma’s house … even overseas!

  • It is super easy to transport the stand

  • The monitor charges ON the stand. I want to hug the person that thought of this feature.

The drawbacks to the product?

  • As with every monitor, you are putting your trust in technology to help you track baby’s safety. With the Nanit Monitor Pro, there is the additional step of trust with the belly band.

  • It’s a bit pricey but in my opinion, it’s completely worth it for everything you are getting (see #1-3)

  • It’s not battery powered, so it needs to be plugged into the wall

Don’t just take my word for it, though - check out their user-friendly website for yourself at HERE or find them on Instagram at @get_nanit.

Happy baby-watching!
