Why I LOVE SlumberPod

When I find a parent hack or product that is a game-changer in the mamahood, I have to share the love.

If you are a mama that prefers to be outside of the house more than in, then this product is for you. As a parent who has done three maternity leaves (thank you, Canada!) and has a husband who also runs his own company, I found that staying inside day after day made me feel trapped and listless. I didn’t know how to do naps-on-the-go well. Cue my saving grace: the SlumberPod.

Here is why I love the SlumberPod and would recommend investing in one for your family:

  1. It is made to travel with.

  • You won’t be pulling any muscles with this lightweight baby

  • The set up is obvious … if you forget to bring the directions, you’re not hooped

  • It fits directly on top of most pack and plays (it has no bottom, so you simply lift and place)

  • It is washable! Whether on a campsite, beach, or your neighbour’s backyard, you can rest-easy knowing that dirt and stains will not ruin your SlumberPod

  1. It helps facilitate excellent sleep.

  • Regardless of where you park your SlumberPod (in the bright sunshine, or at a fireworks show), it is completely blacked out on the inside

  • There is a fan insert (fan available for additional purchase; I highly recommend it). The fan acts as white noise to help block out sounds, keep baby cool, and get them on their journey to sleep

  1. It has safety features.

  • The fabric is breathable

  • There is a peekaboo window so that you can check on baby and get a feel for the temperature inside of the SlumberPod

  • There is a fan insert and the website has fans for an additional purchase. I would say it is a necessary purchase as the SlumberPod can overheat without extra airflow.

  1. It can be used indoors too.

  • I always struggled to get my babies napping during family celebrations. It’s tough to blackout windows in other people’s homes. Last Christmas, I simply popped the SlumberPod overtop of my little one’s pack and play, and she slept like a dream.

  • If your family is travelling and sharing a hotel room, this will be a familiar environment for baby to … well, sleep like a baby in. No more awful nights of baby waking and worrying about where they are.

  • Want to have a coffee date with a friend during naptime? No problem! Pop the SlumberPod into a free space and baby can sleep sweetly while you sip on your beverage and soak in that life-giving connection time.

The drawbacks to the product?

  • You need some space to set it up (just like you would with a small tent)

  • It takes 5-10 mins to assemble … set it up before you start seeing baby’s sleep cues

  • Keep it out of reach of children.

I LOVE this product and use it weekly. It has made such a difference in my mental health and ability to have small and grand adventures. Don’t just take my word for it, though - check it out for yourself at https://www.slumberpod.ca/ or find them on Instagram at @slumberpod.

Enjoy your freedom,

Anna
